Everyone Needs A Little Love

A small pink blur breaks my line of vision.
I see red hair and blue eyes peek over a box.
The little girl, dressed in pink tatters,
stares with big innocent eyes.
"It's okay, don't hide."
Slowly she emerges,
her dress dancing in the wind,
her feet bare on the concrete.
The bag in my hand extended to her,
she carefully grasps the handle as if it were as fragile as glass.
I see the ends of her mouth curve up as she peeks inside,
finding a brand new dress and shoes.
With tear-filled eyes,
this helpless little girl
takes my hand,
and I pull her into a life of happiness and love.
Oh, that little girl;
the joy of my life,
the reason I live,
but most importantly,
my daughter.

Hometown Tradition.

It’s Friday night. Stadium lights pop on; Bam, bam, bam! The roar of chaos slowly approaches. My breath swirls through the cool night air in intricate little wisps all around me. Sitting on the cold metal of the bleachers, I feel the rumble of people walking and running. Paradise City blares through enormous speakers. Shortly after, the song becomes masked by whistles blowing, helmets colliding, kids shouting, and hundreds of people yelling to let the world know which team they’re for. The announcer begins to speak. The crowd stills, eager to hear his cheesy joke of the week. All of which lead up to him telling about his favorite food from the concession stand, Frito pie. That’s when it hits. The smells of the Frito pie, along with the scents that come with grilling, are suddenly with me. I can already imagine the hot, greasy, meaty, crunchy mixture of chili and Fritos in my mouth, followed by salty popcorn and hot chocolate. Elbow to elbow, people gather to watch not a game, but a way of life. Emotions are contagious with these people. They all share a mixture of excitement and anxiety so thick that anyone within a mile could feel it in this crisp fall night air. Who are these people? WE are fans-football fans. And this is Friday night football at Batesville Pioneer Stadium.

Advertisement Analysis

One of the major problems in America today is anima cruelty and abuse. Many American citizens are aware of this and would like to help put an end to it. There are many ways to do this, but the ad I chose only covers one. We can donate money to an organization called "Compassion in World Farming." Providing animals with the anesthetics that they need is their aim.
The author of this ad uses a picture and words to try and persuade you to donate money. They are trying to make a point by saying, "What noise does a piglet make when its teeth are cut off with pliers-without anesthetics? Same as you." The point trying to be made is that if you didn't have anesthetics, you would squeal just like a piglet if you got your teeth cut off because of the pain. Also, in a way, the author is calling you a hypocrite. Why should the animals have to suffer if you don't? Neither you nor I are tough enough to go without the painkillers.
Another techniqe the author used in this ad is tone. He or she used it to express numerous feelings. They signify their hope for this issue because they are obviously an animal lover wanting nothing more than to help. They're asking and hoping that you will donate to this cause. The picture of a piglet pulls affection from your heart. It is in the ad so you'll feel sorry for the cute little baby. The words of the ad are trying to touch your heart in a not-so-nice way. The condescending phrase is pretty much saying, "You get anesthetics, so why shouldn't animals? Jerk."
So, with the facts given, it's easy to conclude that the author of this ad is trying their very hardest to convince you to help with their cause. By using different techniques, they are mainly concerned with the abolishment of animal abuse and cruelty. By touching your heart with meaningful words and an adorable picture, the author wants you to donate anything you possibly can. I mean, what if it was your animal in this situation?

"I Am" Poem

I am me and proud.
I wonder what Heaven will be like.
I hear Jesus's voice.
I see the glory of the Lord.
I want to live happily ever after.
I am me and proud.

I pretend the world is my playground.
I feel in awe of God's creations.
I touch the sky when I lift my hands.
I worry about losing the one I love.
I cry tears of joy when Jesus touches my heart and fills me with his voice.
I am me and proud.

I understand no one makes it out alive, but everyone has life everlasting.
I say "y'all" and "ain't" 'cause that's just me.
I dream of soaring through the clouds of Heaven.
I try my hardest to survive day by day.
I hope all my dreams come true.
I am me and proud.
