Advertisement Analysis

One of the major problems in America today is anima cruelty and abuse. Many American citizens are aware of this and would like to help put an end to it. There are many ways to do this, but the ad I chose only covers one. We can donate money to an organization called "Compassion in World Farming." Providing animals with the anesthetics that they need is their aim.
The author of this ad uses a picture and words to try and persuade you to donate money. They are trying to make a point by saying, "What noise does a piglet make when its teeth are cut off with pliers-without anesthetics? Same as you." The point trying to be made is that if you didn't have anesthetics, you would squeal just like a piglet if you got your teeth cut off because of the pain. Also, in a way, the author is calling you a hypocrite. Why should the animals have to suffer if you don't? Neither you nor I are tough enough to go without the painkillers.
Another techniqe the author used in this ad is tone. He or she used it to express numerous feelings. They signify their hope for this issue because they are obviously an animal lover wanting nothing more than to help. They're asking and hoping that you will donate to this cause. The picture of a piglet pulls affection from your heart. It is in the ad so you'll feel sorry for the cute little baby. The words of the ad are trying to touch your heart in a not-so-nice way. The condescending phrase is pretty much saying, "You get anesthetics, so why shouldn't animals? Jerk."
So, with the facts given, it's easy to conclude that the author of this ad is trying their very hardest to convince you to help with their cause. By using different techniques, they are mainly concerned with the abolishment of animal abuse and cruelty. By touching your heart with meaningful words and an adorable picture, the author wants you to donate anything you possibly can. I mean, what if it was your animal in this situation?
